Killiecrankie Wines and Ravenswood Homestead to host January music event
Excerpt from Bendigo Advertiser, January 15 2021
Killiecrankie Wines and the historic Ravenswood Homestead will host socially-distanced gigs on January 23 and 24.
It helps mark a return of entertainment to the region after 2020 deprived people of most forms of live performance.
Killiecrankie Wines owner John Monteath said people's excitement was reflected in early ticket sales.
"We sold a third of the tickets available by January 15," Mr Monteath said.
"Due to current restrictions, it's a strictly ticketed event and we have to maintain all health and safety precautions."
The ticketed event is able to go ahead under the state government's public health directions but events where people roam freely have been cancelled during January.
The event will host six musicians over the weekend with Luke Harrington, Mandy Connell, Alowishus Jones and The Outright Liars playing on Saturday.
Mariah McCarthy, Bill Barber and Josh DeAraugo will take to the stage on Sunday.
"It's so good to be back playing again for a live audience," musician Colin Thompson, who performs as Cleitus Jones said.
"We have an excellent line-up both days, so it's worth coming for the both days."
Along with the music, guests will be able to wander and explore the grounds and enjoy high quality food and wine.
Ticket includes music, a charcuterie plate and a glass of wine. Ravenswood Homestead will cater the weekend while and featured wines will be provided by Killiecrankie. Other drinks will be available to purchase.
The Killiecrankie Wines-Ravenswood Homestead music event - Crankie at the Stables - is on January 23 and 24 from 11.30am to 5pm. Tickets are $45 per day.
